Me and Mike are official tomato growers. We successfully grew a tomato plant, and this week have begun to partake of wonderful tomatoes! Here's some pics depicting our tomato plant's life:
This picture is from earlier this summer while our plant was still growing. Unfortunately this was the tallest our plant got. Then some huge wind storm came through and demolished our poor plant. Not really it only did this:
It stayed alive, just the tall branches got all bent over. Luckily none of our little green tomatoes fell off! And as of today this is what our plant looks like:
You can see 3 almost ripe tomatoes! We've already picked about 5 this past week. I just need to go buy some bacon and lettuce so we can make some BLTs!
We are so proud of ourselves, that we were able to keep this plant alive and reap the benefits of our labor. Special thanks to my mom and dad who planted this plant and gave it to us! Next step is getting a dog to see if we can keep that alive. Then, if we succeed at that, a BABY! (Haha we know we'll be able to take care of a dog, I was just being silly)
