To Do List

Well, yesterday I finally passed my MLT test so I am officially certified! Now that I passed the test and don't have to worry about studying for it, I have a lot of free time on my hands. Today, I woke up at 7:30, ate breakfast, read my scriptures then went for a walk/jog. What a great way to start the morning. Much better than having to hurry and get dressed and drive up to school to fight for a parking spot. But I can't eat and run all day long. That is why I have decided to make for myself a "To Do" list. During school Spring semester we obviously didn't have time to keep our house clean very well. We would do dishes and scrub the toilet but that's about it. Then during the summer we were just relaxing too much and going and doing things to really pay attention to our house. It wasn't until a couple days ago, when I was sick of studying, that I took a good look around our house. During these past months, piles have begun to accumulate in corners and closets and shelves in our house. So pretty much my to do list includes a lot of de-cluttering.
First thing first though, I am going to spray the perimeter of our apartment with bug killer our land lords gave us. This last month we have had a bad infestation of spiders, and yesterday I found a disgusting grub caterpillar crawling on our floor! Blegh!
After spraying for bugs so I can sleep good at night, I'm going to scrub out the inside of our fridge. From hurrying and making lunches and throwing food back in the fridge, to forgetting things in the back of the fridge so mold is growing on it, our fridge is disgusting inside. So yeah, cleaning the fridge is high on the list.
Then the list continues with just broad tasks like getting rid of school papers I no longer need, and organizing my clothes on the closet shelf so they stop falling on me every time I open the closet door, to organizing the beneath-the-stairs closet with all our unopened wedding gifts and extra blankets and Christmas decorations all helter-skelter.
Obviously I'm not going to do all these things today. I'll probably just do one of them everyday, because I want to leave a lot of time for myself to relax. I haven't had much time to relax the last 17 years of my life because it has been constant school. And trust me, I didn't get good grades by playing all day long. Also, since the age of 15 I have consistently had at least one job at all times, while going to school as well. So now that I only have one job and no school, I am relaxing! Yesterday I went to the library and checked out a couple random books because it always seems like as soon as I get to the library, the names of all the books I want to read just slip my mind. So I'll read these, unless they are super boring, then I'll go back and get some good books like, The Help, or Something Borrowed. I like to read the books before I see the movies because the books are always better.
Last night, I sat and looked at www.iasign.com for like 2 hours while Mike was doing his homework. My friend posted this on her blog. I've been trying to find some cheap crafts I could do to make decorations for our apartment and this website is awesome! I love the vinyl block words and these ones are pretty inexpensive. Well, except that I'd have to buy paints and sandpaper and scrapbook paper and mod podge but I think those things would be a good investment because I love making things! And mod podge always comes in handy!
Well, that's an update on what's been going on and what's going to be going on. Let me know if anyone else has any fun, inexpensive crafting ideas! I'm always in for something new!
