Labor Day Weekend

Me and Michael had a fun weekend with family! Monday morning bright and early we got up and went to Wellsville, UT for their Founder's Day parade. Mike's dad's side of the family all live there so we hung out with them. We watched the parade, which was pretty good for a podunk town, then we went to the school baseball field to watch their "Sham Battle." What it is is a battle between some Indians and Cowboys. Apparently it used to be a lot better, when the people in it could get drunk. This year all that happened was they rode their horses around in a circle, first the Indians, then the Cowboys. Then a little barn got set on fire, and they rode in a circle again. Then some the women got stolen by the Indians, and they rode in a circle again. They did shoot guns off into the air, but Mike was telling me they used to point the guns at each other (they were shooting blanks...) and they would pull each other off their horses and seriously get in fist fights and have a big huge brawl in the middle of the field. But I was told you just have to see it once and your good. So that was my once :)
After the sham battle we went back to the house and had a barbecue, where my finger got stung by a wasp. That was my first time being stung by a wasp. It got my pinkie and it swelled up to about as big as my thumb! But Aunt Brenda got some baking soda on it for me and that really helped! On the way back home my finger shrunk back to its original size so everything is good.
Then me and Mike went to my Grandparent's house and had another barbecue with my family! It was great! Cameron taught me how to knit and he made some plov, which is from Russia, it was delicious! Emily made the most delicious cookies that were decorated like little grills with steaks on them. And we got to hang out with Shalese! I miss that girl because I never get to see her.
It was great fun catching up with all our family, on both sides! And it was a nice day off school :)
